The Prime Minister and the Lithuanian Defence Minister, Raimundas Karoblis, were greeted by Lieutenant Colonel Christoph Huber, the commander of the multinational battlegroup.

Joint field exercise

In the training area close to the barracks, the Lithuanian soldiers then demonstrated their skill in a joint field exercise together with members of the multinational battlegroup.

Situation briefing and weapons display

After the exercise, the visitors were given a briefing outlining what the soldiers had achieved so far. They were treated to a weapons display showing the vehicles of the enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Lithuania, or eFP BG LTU for short, as well as the Lithuanian armed forces’ combat vehicles.

Examining the display with keen interest, Skvernelis also took the opportunity to speak to several battlegroup soldiers in person.
